Microphone The microphone is necessary because it converts acoustic sound energy into electrical energy. In some of the aids you will find 2 microphones. They help in separating background noise. Processor The processor is very important in the hearing aid machine. It not only digitizes the acoustic sound but it also separates background noise from speech and then only the patient can hear sounds better. But the processing speech becomes clearer. The processor is important to eliminate any disturbance caused by background noise. Amplifier The amplifier is needed to boost the processed signal. The signal boosting is done according to the pattern and severity of the hearing loss of the patient. The boosting also depends on the amount of background noise. Speaker The speaker is necessary to hear the sounds. It converts the electrical signal back into acoustic sound. The speaker also sends the sound into your ear canal. Using the speaker in your ear canal or tubing connecting the speaker to plug or custom ear mold are the systems how speakers are used. Sometimes you will also find that the parts of the device housed in a custom-fitting shell. Battery compartment The battery is necessary for power. It provides power to the electronic components. Batteries are necessary to switch on or switch off the hearing aid. Optional controls/accessories Some of the hearing aid devices also have parts in the form of a volume control which will allow you to control the volume. Some other models may have a program control. The program control allows you to change the processing for different listening situations. For example, if there is too much of noise or music playing in the background, then you can control the processing with the help of the program control. You can have all these controls on the hearing aids or on a remote control. Hearing aids run in different conditions. Many times, they work in an ear that is dirty and full of wax. Repairing and replacement are two options with any hearing aid. Testing is very much necessary to find out what is the problem with the device so that you can get it repaired as soon as possible. Sometimes, if the device is not repairable and it is still under warranty, you can get a replacement for the part of the device or the complete device. Hearing aid parts are very important because they complete the hearing aid machine and makes hearing possible for people with hearing loss. The parts of a hearing aid can be sourced from the service centers or directly from the manufacturer. |
